Lucía was saying brocade and chantilly before she couldwalk. Daughter of Pepe Botella, the founder and soul ofthe bridal fashion firm which bears his name, Lucía Botella grew up in the midst of veils, tulle and silk, waiting to shape and transform them herself as she observed her father at his never-ending, painstaking work.Apprentice in the small, Alicante-based workshop where Pepe Botella reinterpreted the tendencies and influences hehad observed on his continuous travels around the world, Lucía, at the age of just 14, discovered the perfect medium through which to channel her creativity. Her first solo collection in 2000 revealed Lucía’s true talent.
